My experiences with breast cancer

I remember when I found the lump in my breast,I had just came home from work,it was the Friday before Labor Day in September 2002.It was a hot day and I was getting ready to jump in the shower when I was wiping off the sweat from under my right breast when I felt the lump.I was just about to turn 43 years old.I was so scared I called my sister-in -law and she told me check again in the shower,which I did,it was still there!So I called her back,she suggested I lay on the bed and do the self exam again,I did,still there.God Bless my sister-in-law because she kept me from panicking!I went to the emergency room,but of course the mammogram  place was closed so they made me an appointment for the following Thursday!

So here I was trying to stay calm and go to work till I could go and get a mammogram .Finally  I  was able to leave work early and get to my appointment.I had never had this test done even though your suppose to get one when you turn 40,Nobody that I knew had Breast Cancer,so of course I did`nt go.So I got there the lady was nice and explained what to do,(if anybody tells you it does not hurt,they are lying!)She performed the test and then she said that they usually want a ultra sound test in cases like mine.Like mine? She said they might not be able today but, she would go see,seemed like she was gone for hours.But she came back about 15 minutes later and they could do one right away,she went with me and when she stayed in the room I knew something was wrong(I had already had a bad feeling about it).The tech did the ultra sound test she said a radiologist needed to see it.They left the room and I started praying asking Jesus please don`t let it be cancer.but I already thought it was.He came in and said he sees something on  there he doesn`t like and that I need to get a biopsy  done!

He told me I could either get it at the hospital or at a surgeon `s office,I said I would go to the surgeon.I left the hospital and went to my other sister-in-law and asked her to pray for me.I went home and my Doctor had called,I tried to call but,the doctor was busy,so I went down there.My doctor called a surgeon and she told me to come right away,and she did a biopsy,she told me it would take a few days to get  the  results.So now I had to wait again,filled with nervous thoughts,finally I got a hold of her,and she told me I should bring my family with me.
